Anchor type Danforth galvanised steel, thick sheet metal, arm articulated in relation to the shaft at high angle, weight 6 kg.
This type of anchor is suitable for sandy or muddy bottoms where the large surface area of the flukes produces great resistance once the anchor is in position. Not suitable for rocky and hard bottoms in general. Compared to other types of anchors, this one is the favourite precisely because the anchor's hold is linked to the shape factor and the weight of the anchor is secondary. Ideal for sailing boats where weight is an important consideration.
